OPTICAL ILLUSIONS: 11-13 FACES

Various sources claim that there should be 11-13 faces found in this picture.

As one site put it: Average people see 4-6, sensible 8-10. The best see all 11, schizophrenics and paranoids 12 and more.

First try to spot as many faces as you can.  I guess we are a paranoid bunch since we think we found 12, (see after the jump).  Can you spot the 13th? (No cheating!)

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS: THE LILAC CHASER

The lilac chaser is a visual illusion, also known as the Pac-Man illusion. It consists of 12 lilac (or pink, rose or magenta), blurred discs arranged in a circle (like the numbers on a clock), around a small black, central cross on a grey background.

The unique thing with this illusion is, when one stares long enough at the cross, (say for about 20 seconds or so), one sees three different things:

1. A gap running around the circle of lilac discs;
2. A green disc running around the circle of lilac discs in place of the gap;
3. The green disc running around on the grey background, with the lilac discs having disappeared in sequence.

Stare at the center cross for at least 30 seconds to experience the three phenomena of the illusion

The chaser effect results from the beta movement illusion, combined with an afterimage effect in which an opposite, complementary, colour—green—appears when each lilac spot disappears (if the discs were blue, one would see yellow)...

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS: HOW MANY PEOPLE?

Count the number of people.  Wait 10 seconds, then count again after the people move around.

How is this possible you say?
It works by slicing half-way through various body-parts and then reusing them as two separate sets. If you cut out the sections in the attached document with scissors you'll see that the woman on the extreme right's legs get split in two and become two sets once moved. Similarly the head of the guy on the front row, 2nd col from right, gets split (his eyes being replaced with hair only from the guy at the extreme left). Feet come from the guy 3rd from left, shorts from guy 5th from left.

Find your blind spot with this awesome optical illusion!

In order to do this you must first close your left eye and focus your right eye on the smaller, stationery, black circle on the left-side of your screen. Sooner or later the big circle will disappear as it crosses your blind spot!
